Employment

Types of employment

Part time employment:
Students who are 14 years and above of age are allowed to work part-time, on or off-campus for up to 20 hours during university semesters and full-time during breaks such as the winter or summer holidays, without the need for a workpermit. The rate of pay is around CAD 10 – CAD 15 per hour.
Co-operative employment:
Co-operative employment is employment that is awarded to students who have opted for co-op study programs. In general term it is a type of employment given to students after their program is over for practical training. Students work full time for almost 12 – 17 weeks. Students get the work permit based on the length of their program.The rate of
pay is around CAD 19 – CAD 21 per hour.
